Red Foliage... These striking
plants offer a sense of excitement in the garden. These
are the plants we are passionate about. Their dark and
mysterious color invites us to venture deep within the
garden to experience the very heart and soul that drives
us to be gardeners. |

Silver Foliage... Each leaf or needle adds an icy
allure to the garden just like frosting on a cake.
These foliages area reminder of the chilly winter days
even in the heat of summer. The color of each leaf is
actually a mechanism to prevent the plants from losing
too much moisture in their dry native climate. Silver
coloring comes from thick hairs or waxy coatings, but
the feeling in the garden is light, airy and purely
refreshing! |

Golden Foliage... These treasures
remind me of the glory of autumn when all the trees
around us are ablaze with color. Smaller gems in the
garden can be mistaken for pots of gold that might have
been left at the base of a rainbow. The intense
acid-yellow of springtime leaves often fades to a cooler
shade of chartreuse in the summer heat. This welcome
reminder of cooler months can be high above us in a
specimen tree or near our feet as a groundcover. Plants
that possess golden foliage can’t help but cheer an
otherwise green garden! |
